Waupaca Rotary Riverview Park
Rotary Riverview Bandshell
The Riverview Park was built in 1997 as a part of the WI Main Street program, formed for downtown renovation and development. It is located adjacent to the Waupaca River and downhill from Waupaca's Main Street. The bandshell is located at the north end of the Park with a large grass lawn in front.
As explained by Terrence W. Martin, architect for the project, the bandshell was almost completely constructed through donations of time, materials and money. Mr. Martin donated his time for the design and construction administration, as well as many hours volunteering along with many others. Materials were donated by Noffke Lumber, Torborg's Lumber, and Faulks Bros. Construction. Labor and equipment were donated by Don Schroeder Construction, LLC, and Eugene Morschell Construction. All are local businesses. The Main Street Waupaca members also turned out to help with construction.
The annual Man Street Waupaca Riverfest was held from1996 through 2004. The initial concert was held prior to the bandshell's construction - the festival was part of the impetus to build it. Riverfest had concert bands all day; food and games were also a part of the festival. The intent was to not only raise funds for the Riverfest organization, but to bring more people to the downtown area to appreciate its beautiful location.
The Park was renamed Rotary Riverview Park after the Main Street program ended. The Rotary Club of Waupaca raised funds for the Plaza located at its center with the idea to sponsor activities as part of the Riverview Park Redevelopment project sponsored by the City with the aid of grants it received.

The bandshell is used minimally - a few churches using it on occasion.
The Arts on the Square event has used it for its festival in August.
