Frank B. Koller Memorial Park Bandstand
In 2008 a small wooden stage was built on the hillside and overlooks not only the Frank B. Koller Park but beautiful Rest Lake. The stage was later expanded to accommodate larger bands. It is now home to the "Music in the Park", established in 2007 by the owners of the Pea Patch Saloon - Barry and Lisa Hopkins. The first years, six concerts were held and attracted many to hear a variety of music. At that point in time, an independent board was established to coordinate all events. See the 2012 article about it all at "Northwoods Today.com. Who was Frank B. Koller? Information about his life is provided by the Frank B. Koller Library. The Koller family philanthropy has reached into many corners of the community. |
Music in the Park concerts are held every Sunday in the late afternoon/early evening, during the summer season and extending through mid September.
Audiences include not only those on blankets or lawn chairs, but many boaters who dock at the pier or lay anchor on Rest Lake.
