Port Washington State Bank (PWSB) River Stage
On September 14, 2019, a Ribbon Cutting event, called "Chillin' in the Ville", was held for the Port Washington State Bank River (PWSB) Stage. This was last phase of a plan to upgrade the 16 acre Village Park which added many new amenities and upgraded existing ones. The "Village Park Re-Imagined" plan began in 2016 with the bandshell planned for late 2017/early 2018 according Andy LaFond, Director of Public Works for the Village.
The Stage was designed to be open to allow for the view of the Milwaukee River which runs parallel along the Park. The contractor was J.H. Hassinger. The frame is made of steel with stone columns, with a tongue-and-groove ceiling, along with electrical and sound. The cost was estimated to be $225,000-250,000. The Port Washington State Bank contributed $65,000 and secured the naming rights; $25,000 came from the Family Fun Before the Fourth event; and other private donations provided the remaining funding. |
