Brillion
Horn Park Bandshell
From the WI Historical Society: The Horn Park Bandshell is a Contemporary structure composed of brick walls and piers, set on a concrete slab. It is open on two sides, and is topped by a triangular, prow-like roof. The bandshell was designed by Curtis Biggar of Appleton-based John Gillespie Associates in 1963. The City of Brillion advertised for bids in spring 1963 but initially rejected the first three bids and did not award the construction contract until the following year. Parson Brothers Construction Co. of Chilton built the bandshell between March and June 1964, at a cost of $7,830. The bandshell was formally dedicated at the season opening concert of the Brillion City Band on June 10, 1964.
