City Park's Kiel Municipal Band Memorial Bandstand

The stage of the bandshell was known as the "Free Act Platform according  to Art Pahr, former Kiel Municipal Band Business Manager.  Entertainment was held on it for the annual Kiel Band/Firemen Picnic.  A decision to add the shell portion was made, and this was dedicated in 1989.  Band members were excited to move their performances to this new location from the older Edgar Thiessen Memorial Bandstand located in Hingiss Park.  Apparently it was better acoustically and also not near the Sheboygan River that hatched many mosquitos affecting the comfort of not only band members but the audience!

 Free concerts are planned for the summer season.  All start at 7 pm.
