Alan "Al" Lucas Richards, whose name graces the arches of the bandshell, was a former mayor of St. Francis from 2004 to 2012. He was a great supporter of the City of St. Francis.
Concerts are regularly held during the summer months.
Together, the Saint Francis Civic Association, the Saint Francis Lion's Club, and Saint Francis Days are responsible for management of the summer concert entertainment. Funds earned at the concession stand pay for this. The "No beverages or food" per City ordinance assures the organizations' ability to fund entertainment.
